Flores, Komodo & Lombok Sample Itinerary
Day 2.
Take time to relax on one of the many pristine, white sand beaches in the area, most with great snorkelling. There is also an interesting museum to visit in Maumere itself. Later in the day you will be met by your driver who will take you through stunning scenery including terraced rice paddies and the ever present volcanic cones surrounding you as you make your way to Moni, gateway to Kelimatu National Park. |
Day 3.
Head up into the mountains to see the volcanic Kelimatu lakes at dawn. There is a moderate walk from the carpark to reach the summit which overlooks the three coloured lakes, rich in minerals and captivating as the sun slowly rises above them. Spend the night in a missionary guesthouse in the friendly town of Detusoko. |
Day 10.
On your last morning aboard your boat you will be taken to visit Komodo Island, home to the incredible Komodo Dragon. If you are lucky, like we were, you may see them feasting on their recent prey – a rare and impressive sight! You will then be taken back to Lubuan Bajo and transferred to the airport for your short flight across to the island of Lombok. |
Day 11 - Day 13.
For those of you who fancy some moderate to hard trekking, head north to Gunung Rinjani National Park. Along the way you should take in the beautiful waterfalls in the Senaru area. If you want to finish off your holiday in the relaxing way you started it, head to the beautiful beaches on Lombok’s southern coast. Along the way visit the village of Sukarara where you will be able to see traditional weaving being done by hand. |
