Alor & West Timor Sample Itinerary

Day 1.
Arrive into Kupang, West Timor, before taking your short connecting flight to Kalabahi, the main town of Alor.

​Day 2.
Spend your day relaxing, beach combing and snorkelling on one of the many pristine, white-sand beaches.

​Day 3.
Head around the northern road of Alor to the hot springs at Tuti Agadai, stopping at remote villages and beaches on the way. The museum in Kalabahi itself is also well worth a look and the local market is a must.​

​Day 4.
Visit the traditional villages of Takapala and Mombang, once again stopping at the many gorgeous spots along the way.

Day 5.
Take the short boat ride across to your resort on Kepa Island.

​Day 6 – Day 8.
Enjoy your stay at the resort whether diving, snorkelling or just soaking up the sun and eating the delicious meals provided.

Day 9.
Take the short flight back across to Kupang, West Timor. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you on a short exploration around the town and surrounding area.

Day 10.
Head inland to the traditional village of Nome where head hunting was still being practised up in to the 1960s. Meet the Dawan villagers and learn about the area’s fascinating history. You will get the chance to stop at market places and roadside stalls along the way.​​

Day 11.
A steep ascent by car up to the village of Fatumanse through spectacular scenery and with groves of mahogany en route.
Then on to the remote village of Boti where the people have their own religion based around animism, still have a king and are completely self-sufficient. You have the honour of eating dinner with the king and walk around freely within the village compound.

Day 12.
Today sees you driving to Kefamenanu, the home village of your guide. Here you can have the amazing experience of meeting his family and being welcomed into a traditional Timorese home.
Visit the nearby traditional rock village of Tamkesi set high in the hills bordering East Timor.
The evening sees you participate in singing and dancing with the locals as they showcase their traditions and make you feel part of their extended family.​​

Day 13.
​Head back to Kupang and be taken to the airport for your return journey home.
